As people who are interested in maximizing our health and life, we have to beware of what I call the “online attitude”. That attitude is that we can get whatever we want for free. Download free music, movies and books. Take whatever you like, it is easy to get whatever you want.

Besides the legal side of things…

The “easy way out” attitude carries over into our training and our buying decisions. Cereal for breakfast instead of high quality protein – after all, the ads say it’s good for you. But in reality, the cereal box is more nutritious that the cereal

Just do a bit of “easy” brisk walking and that should get you the awesome physique you desire, when in reality you will look exactly the same and likely fatter 3, 6, 12, 24 months from now if that is all you do.

Just choose the cheapest possible supplement instead of looking for the best quality after all, supplement companies never try to skimp on ingredients or fool customers with deceptive advertising. In reality the supplement industry is one of the most unregulated and scammish in the world.

Recently on an online forum, I was “accused” of making a profit of unsuspecting buyers of supplements. “How can you charge the prices that you do, you are making a cheap profit” was the claim. This is where, unfortunately the freedom of speech of the internet makes talking without proper consideration the norm. This poor soul forgets to take into account shipping, taxes, holding stock and currency conversion rates.

In fact, unless a client orders a big quantity, buying from me is actually cheaper than getting supplements of this quality directly from the supplier! And he forgets the service and support that is provided to help clients choose and buy the correct nutrients and supplements in the correct amounts… the internet certainly has its ups and downs!

But in general the “easiest and cheapest” mentality rules. But don’t let it rule you. Choose the nutrition, supplements, personal training, fitness services, exercise routine that gets you results, not wasted time and effort!

When first time visitors come to my gym, they often have similar goals. Fat loss, muscle gain, better performance, better health etc.

One of the questions they often ask is “what are the average results that people get”.
That is a fair question. But not a very good one.

I’m not looking for people who want to be average! The commitment, time, energy, and money that you would spend on good coaching, should not leave you with an “average” experience, or average results.

Ask me “what is the BEST result you have ever seen” – and aim to be even better!

Being average is NOT why people join Singapore’s best Gym for personal training, or fitness bootcamps!

As a Fitness Coach here in Singapore, I know that many personal training, and athlete clients want it all and they want it now.

That’s good! And as a coach and as a fitness professional my staff and I keep up to date on the latest in science and practice so that we can deliver results!

But in fitness, just like in many things, focus is critical. You can’t lose fat really fast and gain muscle really fast at the same time! You can’t improve your vertical jump and your 10km run time fast at the same time… and so the list goes on…

I like the saying of Dr George Washington Carver (not the US president). He was a scientist who discovered more than 300 uses of the peanut and these uses made peanut production popular and made his state of Alabama rich.
He was wondering what to research on and realized that he needed to

“Decrease the EXTENT and increase the INTENT”

Thus he ended up focusing on just 1 thing… the peanut! HE got great results.
Part of coaching is helping clients to focus on one thing at a time so that they get consistent results. Too much extent with too little intent = nothing!

Do you need an extra boost of INTENT. Check out our programs which are all goal oriented and focused on helping you achieve your best results ever.

Don’t get me wrong. Our staff and I are some of the most caring people you will ever meet! We encourage, we do our best to meet your needs, and we are open and honest about everything we do at the Genesis Performance Center.

On thing that is NOT ok… is whining. Negative talk KILLS the positive and encouraging training environment and culture that we have worked hard to provide our clients. So if whining is what you want to do, please do us all a favor and go to another gym!

Don’t be like this guy… he is in prison and is whining that the prison food is making him lose weight. Uh… he lost weight from 180kg to 140kg. That is actually good for him!
